![]() ![]() In the five years in-between the events of the game, Superman virtually eliminates crime on Earth and establishes absolute power and control through his regime, the One Earth Government, taking like-minded super-heroes and villains as his generals with himself acting as High Councilor. With his eyes igniting in a fury, Superman kills the Joker by shoving his fist through his chest and ripping out Joker's heart, with the madman dying with one last smile and cackle of insanity. When the Joker mocks Superman by asking him if he'll ever find love again and muses that he might not kill his next family, this proves the final straw. Outraged and thirsty for vengeance, Superman snatches the Joker by his neck and lifts him up, shoving Batman aside with a passive-aggressive nudge when the Dark Knight tries to intervene. As the Man of Steel stalks toward the Clown Prince of Crime, who sits back down, further mocking the fact that, even if they lock him up, he will escape causing even greater destruction. When the Joker mockingly points out Metropolis' similar fate to Krypton, Superman smashes his fist against the wall near Joker's head and then throws him across the room. Superman rages over the Joker's manipulations of him before somberly lamenting the loss of Lois and their unborn son. ![]() He orders Batman aside, though when the Dark Knight tries to assure Superman he is handling this, Kal-El quickly throws the table in-between himself and the Joker aside and grabs the psychotic clown, slamming him against the room's two-way mirror. Mirroring the comic, Superman first appears breaking down a wall of the room, so enraged his eyes burn red with heat vision. ![]() Injustice: Gods Among Us begins with scenes of Metropolis utterly devastated by a nuclear blast, with the Joker being held in an interrogation room by Batman in Gotham. Still grieving the loss of Lois and their unborn son, Superman maintains that peace can only be achieved through subjugation-But as a new threat looms, can old enemies forge new alliances? He now rules as High Councilor of Earth, killing all who oppose him.Īfter the Regime's fall, Superman now remains a permanent resident of a prison built to contain and suppress the Man of Steel. Adopted by a kindly farming couple in Kansas, he went on to become Earth's most powerful and respected superhero.Ī deeply troubled dictator, Superman was drugged into killing his wife Lois, their unborn son, and all of Metropolis by the Joker. The last son of Krypton was sent to Earth to escape his birthworld's destruction. Clark moved to the city of Metropolis, where Clark also kept tabs on the happenings of Metropolis to discover crime to fight as Superman by applying for a job at the Daily Planet as a journalist.įrom there, he developed a reputation as a respected superhero and protector of Metropolis and amassed some allies such as his lover, Lois Lane, assistant photographer Jimmy Olsen, and his boss, editor-in-chief Perry White.Īlthough Clark’s powers gave him an advantage, he did make quite a few enemies in the process, such as Brainiac, Zod, and most notably his archnemesis, Lex Luthor.Ĭlark would later go on to help found the Justice League, with other heroes such as Batman and Wonder Woman, along with others. To protect his identity, Clark donned a colorful costume, with the symbol of the house of El to inspire hope, and set out to fight crime. ![]() Eventually, his adoptive parents discovered his abilities and encouraged Clark to use his unique abilities for the greater good. As he grew older, he discovered that he had special abilities, such as heat vision, super breath, super strength, and bulletproof skin which could absorb radiation from Earth’s sun. Kal-El’s name was legally changed to Clark Joseph Kent in order to make his identity more in keeping with that of other humans, in spite of his alien identity.Ĭlark Kent spent his childhood and much of his youth in Smallville, raised on the Kent farm, unaware of his true origins. Upon his space capsule’s arrival, crash landing in the township of Smallville, Kansas, an infantile Kal-El was discovered by farmer Jonathan Kent and his wife, Martha Kent, who took the baby in as their own. Desperate to preserve their race, Jor-El sent Kal-El away from Krypton to planet Earth, after which Krypton was completely destroyed. Kal-El was born on the distant world of Krypton to gifted scientist Jor-El and his lover, Lara Lor-Van, in the midst of his home planet’s destruction. ![]()
